Festival Guidelines

FESTIVAL LOCATION: Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort, 2 El Paso Blvd, Colo Springs, CO 80904

FESTIVAL ENTRY: The Festival gates will open at 1:00 PM, on Friday, September 14, 2018 for those with weekend camping passes.  No attendees will be admitted prior to this time. All camper check-ins will take place at the entrance to the Buffalo Lodge at this time. Non-campers or hotel guests with Friday or Weekend Passes can enter the festival site after 2:00 PM on Friday September 14th. Note that hotel room check-in is after 3:00 PM - so you can secure your festival seating and/or attend a workshop, but may not be able to get into your room until 3:00 PM on Friday - same with those for Saturday night reservations.

Festival gates will open at 10:00 AM Saturday September 15th.

Tickets will be exchanged for wristbands upon front-gate check-in. 

We are not responsible for lost, stolen or forgotten tickets and will not replace them.

Alcohol, glass, and video cameras are not allowed on the festival grounds. Additional details on festival parking and lineups will be published on this page in early-to-mid August.

 

FESTIVAL RE-ENTRY: Please keep your wristband(s) on at all times. There is no re-entry without the proper wristband, and wristbands cannot be replaced if removed or damaged. 

PARKING: We have a designated festival parking lot close to the festival field - a 5 minute walk to the festival. Parking on-site is extremely limited, but can be purchased for a nominal charge - the earlier you buy it - the better deal- see Tickets for details. Please refer to additional parking details on the location and logistics page - to be updated in late August/early September as there is lots of construction occurring a few blocks away from the festival.

 

FOOD AND BEVERAGES: We will have food vendors on site Friday evening and Saturday all day. We will be selling craft beer and wine on the festival grounds. There is also full-service bar available in the Buffalo Lodge. Craft beer will be available on the festival grounds Friday mid-afternoon (start time TBD) until 9:00 PM and Saturday afternoon 1:00 to 9:00 PM. Only serving adults 21 and over with valid ID's - be sure to have your ID with you.

PETS: We love dogs and other pets. However, for the safety and consideration of other guests, pets are not permitted at the Casey Jones Music Festival, with the exception of trained service animals. Note that there are limited pet-friendly hotel rooms in the Buffalo Lodge, and pets are allowed to stay in these rooms, but will not be allowed to enter the festival grounds. 

SMOKING: Smoking (including electronic and vapor devices) on the festival grounds  is restricted to designated smoking areas only. Please dispose of cigarette butts in the appropriate containers. There is no smoking allowed inside any buildings on-site. This includes hotel rooms, hotel lobby, bathroom facilities, etc.

 

CANNABIS: Although it is now legal to purchase and consume cannabis products privately in Colorado, the use of marijuana in public remains illegal. Therefore, public consumption of marijuana or any other illegal drug is prohibited at the venue. Please be mindful of this and respect those around you.

 

FIRE: All campfires, cooking fires and open fires are prohibited during the Casey Jones Music Festival. Propane cook stoves and propane campfires are permitted. We will have several propane "campfires" setup for acoustic Song Circle/Jamming activities after the scheduled shows end each evening - so bring your instruments!

 

WEATHER: The Casey Jones Music Festival will be held rain or shine. No refunds will be given for any weather-related cancellation or problem. Although September is one of the best months to camp in the Rockies, weather can still be unpredictable – you may encounter rain, sun, wind or even some snow. We recommend that you come prepared with sunscreen, a rain jacket and warm clothing for nighttime. Dress in layers!

 

SEATING: Please bring your own blankets and camp chairs, and we ask that any high-clearance chairs (i.e., if a basketball can fit underneath) be placed only at the back of the main festival stage. Low chairs are permitted closer to the front, but please do your part to make sure you are not blocking the view of the people behind you. 

OVERNIGHT CAMPING/LODGING: Each camper and hotel guest who presents a valid weekend pass with camping/lodging will receive a wristband that authorizes his or her right to remain on the property overnight. If you do not have a camping/lodging wristband, you will not be permitted to stay overnight. See camping/lodging guidelines.

 

LOST AND FOUND: Please go to the Entry Gate to inquire about lost or found items.

 

OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGE: Outside alcohol is absolutely prohibited within the festival grounds as a requirement of the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort liquor license. Food and non-alcoholic beverages may be brought into the festival grounds. 

 

GLASS: Glass containers are prohibited on the festival grounds. All bags, coolers, etc., are subject to search.

 

ALCOHOL: You will be required to show proper identification to purchase alcoholic beverages – please drink responsibly. Alcohol purchased at the festival may not leave the festival grounds.

 

WATER: Complimentary drinking water is available at the hydration station in the tent camping area near the pool. Please bring your own reusable water bottle to refill and make sure to stay hydrated throughout the weekend. 

RULE COMPLIANCE: Just follow the Guidelines - ok!
