Bonnie and Taylor Sims
Bonnie and Taylor are a high-energy Americana duo who front a five piece country/rock band - Bonnie & The Clydes. With four critically acclaimed albums and multiple awards under their belts, they continue to write, perform, and produce Americana music that will surely stand the test of time. Expect intricate harmonies, great guitar licks and finely crafted tunes form this alt-country/rock duo.
This Colorado native melds upbeat, rootsy Americana with melodic pop music to get people off their feet and dancing. Billy plays multiple instruments, from steel drums, to guitar, organ and much more. His music explores vast folk landscapes with the same fervor as rock-climbing explorers, enticed by each canyon and summit. Hold on to your hats - Billy will rock Parrish Ranch!
Justin Roth is a critically claimed songwriter and acoustic guitarist who combines an artful blend of hooks laid on a bed of brilliantly inventive guitar technique. Justin is also an accomplished producer and engineer having recorded, produced, played and sung every single note of Now You Know, his fourth solo album. He is also well-known at Planet Bluegrass in nearby Lyons, CO where he has been on the staff as a capo master and finger-style acoustic music instructor for over 10 years.
North Denver’s Highland Ramblers create handmade, mile high music. Blending elements of Blues, Folk and Bluegrass, this five piece band has earned accolades from Westword (Ten of the Best Bluegrass Bands in Colorado: 2016 Edition) and CBSDenver (Top Local Bluegrass Bands in Colorado).
Antonio Lopez Band
Antonio Lopez has the "it" factor. There are those in the know, and those who don't know "it" yet. His acoustic soul and modern folk sound garners comparison to artists such as Amos Lee and Paul Simon. A sixth generation Coloradan, Antonio was born and raised in Alamosa and now resides in Longmont. His fourth album Roots and Wings will be out later this year and he will be backed up by his full band of talented musicians.
John Bunzli Band
John Bunzli is a seasoned songwriter who pens gritty, heart-felt songs that depict the trials and tribulations of ordinary folks leading extraordinary lives. He’ll be joined by his band – a trio of accomplished musicians who add complex textures and groove that bring his well-crafted tunes to life.
Tyler T. is a unique singer/songwriter who uses looping and phrase sampling to create a virtual one man band live experience. His music is a high energy blend of acoustic, psychedelic, and folk rock featuring sounds and instruments from around the globe.
Larry Nair and Liza Beth Oliveto comprise this Nevada-based folk-rock acoustic duo who are currently on tour in support of their new album “Under the Plow”. With heartfelt warmth and authenticity, this duo creates magic from thin air with their intertwining voices and tasty guitar work.

2019 Songwriters in the Round
We are adding a new element to this year’s festival. Several “Songwriter in the Round” sessions by some of the best up-and-coming songwriters from the Front Range of Colorado including performances by:
Caitlin Cannon has a huge heart, and her songs reflect her passion for life, her joy of living.
David Cole writes and sings energetic, wide-ranging tunes that transcend any one genre.
One half of The Farmer Sisters, Kate writes and sings soulful and bluesy songs influenced by Americana and folk.
Michelle blends a mix of country, blues and sultry rock into familiar life stories.
Tim Ostdiek writes and plays feel-good, big-hearted folk with a drop of something funky.
Alex Rhodes writes upbeat, down-home music full of charming stories and colorful characters.
Shanna in a Dress is your quirky best friend who refuses to wear pants - a fun combination of humor, truth, and poignancy all wrapped up in a sweet voice.
John Spengler is a singer/songwriter heavily influenced by Neil Young and Jackson Browne, who writes about real life with an infusion of humor.
Bob Wood's lyrics and tunes are sometimes whimsical, sometimes serious, but always witty, poetic, and insightful.
After the main stage shows end, most of the artists will also hang around and jam in the campground - so expect late-nights filled with singing, jamming, and pickin' around the (propane) campfires. Experienced festival-folkies's know that the unplanned and unrehearsed campground activities are the heart and soul of any festival - and it is these interactions that bring people back to the festivals they love year after year.
There will be several music-related workshops, including a songwriting challenge - where we pair folks up to see what they come up with in a co-writing experiment. If you make good progress and are confident in what you have created, you will have an opportunity to share with your peers during the open stage.
Casey Jones Music Fest is a community oriented, musical extravaganza. Even if you have never played for an audience or stood on a stage - this is a safe place to make music or listen to your friends play in a welcoming environment. For those new to performing music, beginner workshops provide an introduction to songwriting and musical collaboration, encouraging you to unleash your creativity in a welcoming environment. Advanced classes are available for the seasoned songwriter and musician to help hone your craft and encourage you to collaborate with others on developing new songs.
Set up your tent, grab your guitar or ukelele and come hang out with us. If you know what a House Concert is - think of it as a long 3-day House Concert with all your friends and some soon-to-be-friends that you just haven't met yet.

Participatory, music-oriented workshops are open to all festival attendees. They provide an opportunity for an intimate interaction with the artists performing at the festival (who will be leading these workshops) and a chance to develop new skills. Artists will share their wisdom and experiences, and creative processes. Whether you are a musician, songwriter or music fan - the workshops are designed to awaken the artist that resides within each of us. Workshops will take place on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Saturday September 7
Capo Envy: Obsessive Capo Disorder
Partial capos can enhance your guitar sound and elaborate your sonic palate without complicating your guitar parts. Come to this workshop to learn the simple keys to understanding how to use both the Kyser "Drop-D" (5 string) and "Shortcut" (3 string) capos in standard tuning. It's easier than it looks! You will learn a simple way to use single or multiple partial capos to enhance your guitar sound and apply it to songs you've already written or songs to come using chords you already know in standard tuning. Partial capos will be provided for use during the workshop and are available for purchase from Justin. Some guitar experience is necessary, but this workshop is open to beginners as well as seasoned players. Come find out just how easy it is and take a leap forward with your sound.
Shanna in a Dress
Shanna in a Dress is your quirky best friend who refuses to wear pants. She is a humorous and talented singer/songwriter - and has written many of her tunes on the Ukelele. Bring your Ukelele - or borrow one from a friend . No experience required - just a great attitude and a good sense of humor. After only an hour you will be able to play basic Ukelele and be able to join in the fun at song circles at any festival.

Recording a Demo Song
Zak Sloan is a music producer and performer, and runs Sloan Song Studios in Castle Rock. His production credits include Jeremy Facknitz, Kelly Spicer, Dan Manly, and Alyssa Stoner. Zak also mixes and masters music for artists across the country. Zak's workshop, is designed to help attendees learn how to make their own demo for less than $500. It is is great for folks who are brand new to home recording and want to make their own quality demos quickly and at a minimal cost. Zak will teach you how to record acoustic instruments and vocals, as well as demonstrate some basic recording and mixing techniques.
Michael has toured extensively across North America, playing over 250 shows each year. He will share his insights on building a successful career as a traveling troubadour, writing great music, leading multiple bands and performing as a sideman with various acts. This session will be informative, lively and entertaining - not to be missed!
